Free LinkedIn text formatter

Turn a finished draft into a post that is easier to scan. Bravabase’s LinkedIn text formatter adds bold or italic emphasis, turns lines into bullet points, and tidies excess spacing. Paste your text, choose Format post, and edit the result in one place. Copy it when you are ready, or download a text file to keep for later.

The formatter changes the text you provide. It does not write a new post, connect to your LinkedIn account, or publish anything. There is no account to create and no AI request. You can try the example first to see the controls before working on your own draft.

How to format a LinkedIn post

  1. Paste your draft. Add the full post, including the paragraphs and line breaks you want to keep. Choose Format post to open the editor. Your original wording stays intact.
  2. Select the words to emphasize. Highlight one phrase, then choose Bold, Italic or Bold italic. If nothing is selected, the chosen style applies to the whole post.
  3. Organize the structure. Put list items on separate lines and choose Bullets. Use Clean spacing to remove trailing whitespace and reduce excess blank lines.
  4. Review the result. Edit the text directly. Undo and Redo let you move between changes while the page remains open. Plain text removes the supported bold and italic character styles.
  5. Copy and check the final paste. Choose Copy post, paste into LinkedIn, and review line wrapping and characters there before publishing. Download .txt saves a separate copy.

What you can change

Bold and italic text

Emphasize a short opening, a useful contrast, or the title of a list. Bold, Italic and Bold italic use styled Unicode letters for supported Latin characters. Switching between these styles replaces the previous supported style rather than stacking styles on top of each other.

Bullet points and line breaks

Bullets work on separate lines. With a selection, the tool includes the complete selected lines, so a list item is not split in the middle. Selecting an existing list and choosing Bullets again removes the bullet prefixes that the tool recognizes. Clean spacing tidies blank lines without rewriting your message.

Plain text, undo and downloads

Plain text returns supported styled letters to their ordinary equivalents. Undo and Redo help you compare edits, while Download .txt keeps the current output as a text file. The download contains your post, without the surrounding website or instructions.

LinkedIn formatting example

Here is a fictional example of a short practical post. The same words work without any styling; formatting simply makes the list easier to notice.

Before formatting
A better follow-up starts with a clear next step.

Remember the question.
Keep the promise.
Make the next action specific.
After adding emphasis and bullets
𝗔 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝘂𝗽 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽.

• Remember the question.
• Keep the promise.
• Make the next action specific.

To recreate it, select the opening sentence and choose Bold. Then select the three remaining lines and choose Bullets. Keep the rest of the post plain so that the emphasized sentence has a clear purpose.

When formatting is useful

Sharing a lesson

Separate the situation, what you learned, and what you would do differently. A short heading can help the reader move between those parts. Keep the actual experience specific; visual emphasis cannot replace a useful observation.

Publishing a checklist

Use bullets for items that belong together, such as the questions to ask before a discovery call or the materials needed for a project handoff. Keep each item understandable on its own. A list does not need every line in bold.

Preparing a draft for review

Use the editor to clean spacing and compare a plain version with a lightly styled version. Download the draft if someone else needs to review it. Confirm names, numbers and claims before copying it into a public post.

How LinkedIn bold text works

The styles in this tool are Unicode character substitutions. They are different text characters that look bold or italic, rather than a rich-text formatting instruction. This distinction matters when copying, searching, counting characters, or reading with assistive technology.

Supported Latin letters are converted to mathematical sans-serif bold or italic forms. Bold styles also support digits. Characters outside those mappings, including accented letters and emoji, are kept as supplied. A word with accented and unaccented letters can therefore show a mixture of styles.

Use styled text sparingly. Display and pronunciation can vary by app, font and assistive technology. Keep essential information understandable in ordinary text, and use Plain text if a styled phrase renders poorly. The editor is not a simulation of LinkedIn’s exact feed layout.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make one phrase bold?

Select the phrase in the result editor and choose Bold. Only the selected text changes. With no selection, the whole post changes. Use Undo immediately if you selected more than you intended.

Is this LinkedIn font generator free?

Yes. You can format, edit, copy and download without signing up or paying. The available styles are Bold, Italic and Bold italic, alongside Plain text, Bullets and Clean spacing.

Does bold text increase LinkedIn reach?

This tool does not measure reach or predict distribution. Formatting can help organize a message for a reader, but it does not establish that a post will receive more impressions, engagement or enquiries.

Can I use it for comments or profile text?

The output is copyable text. You can try pasting it into another text field, including a comment or profile draft, but check that field’s limits and rendering yourself. The formatter does not validate every LinkedIn field.

Why does the character count look different?

The counter counts Unicode code points. Some emoji contain several code points, and styled letters can occupy more than one UTF-16 code unit. LinkedIn may calculate length differently; this is an editor count, not a guarantee that a platform limit has been met.

Does the tool support every alphabet?

No. The styling mappings cover supported Latin letters and some digits. Other characters remain unchanged. Plain text reverses the styles supported by this tool; it is not a universal converter for every decorative alphabet.

Will my work survive a refresh?

The draft and output are saved in the current tab when session storage is available. A refresh can restore them, but Undo history resets. Copy or download your text before closing the tab. If browser storage fails, the page displays a saving warning.

Does Bravabase upload or publish my post?

The formatter processes the text in your browser and does not send it to an AI model or LinkedIn. Copy and Download are actions you control. Publishing happens only when you choose to do it in your destination app.

Build the message before formatting it

If the words are not ready yet, use the LinkedIn post prompt builder to organize your source facts, audience and writing preferences. Then bring the reviewed draft back here to format it.
